Fresh Finds - May

Summer arrives in Little River the way it always does — all at once and without apology. Graduations, lake days, swimming pools, splash pads, camping trips, and the general, glorious busyness of a community that knows how to make the most of a warm evening. The Market has felt all of it. The door swings open and closed with a kind of rhythm that does a person's heart good.

We've been learning a lot lately — about what you love, what you reach for, what you absolutely cannot do without. So much so that we decided we needed some help keeping track of it all. Say hello to Gertrude and Gary, our newest additions to The Market family.

From the Shelves

Let's talk about Grillo's. You have now sold us out three weeks running. Three. We doubled our order this week and still moved half the supply on truck day. Consider yourselves warned — and consider this your gentle nudge to stop in sooner rather than later.

On a sweeter note: Cotton Candy grapes have arrived, and they've been every bit the hit we expected. Fair warning — these are seasonal, so enjoy them while they're here. We'll bring them back whenever we can get our hands on them. And by popular request, Tru Fru Chocolate Strawberries are now on the shelf. You asked; we listened.

Speaking of things that won't last forever — we likely have our final batch of homegrown asparagus from our Little River gardeners. If you haven't tried it yet, now is the time. Once it's gone, it's gone until next year. And as always, if you have extra produce from your own garden, we are happy to share it with the community. That's what we're here for.

Happy Accidents

Owning a small grocery store is, some days, a very particular kind of adventure.

Case in point: we now have bulk Louisiana Fish Fry Seasoning — the result of an ordering adventure I'll just leave at that. Honestly, if it were up to me, this is how we'd always carry it. The bulk price is more economical for you than the individual packets. But as always, we'll stock what you want. In the meantime, come get it while we have it.

We also received packs of kiwis instead of individual ones. If you happen to see me — Jennifer — in the store, there's a chance I'll make you a deal.

Roasterie Coffee Has Arrived

This one is personal. Roasterie Coffee is made in Kansas City, and it is my absolute favorite. We've brought in a thoughtful selection: a few cold brews, three ground coffees, two flavors of K-Cups, and some instant coffee for those mornings that require speed above all else. We've also added their Half Caf as a ground option — for those of you who want just enough of a lift without the full dose. It's worth trying. I may be slightly biased.

Around the Store

Our home goods aisle has seen some fresh additions as well — Shout Color Catchers and new scents of Febreze are now on the shelves.

And a note on the tags you may have noticed marked with a "D": this means the product is being discontinued, either at the vendor's direction or after a review of our sales. If there's something you love that carries that tag, now is the time to pick it up — and to tell your neighbors to do the same. Our shelf space is something we take seriously, and we want it filled with the things that actually matter to you. That's the whole point.

I know I've missed a thing or two — there's been a lot of ground to cover lately. Best way to find out what's new? Come in and take a look around. Something good is always waiting.

We'll see you soon!
